Dearest Sharon, I never expected to reach the stage where I'd be writing on your memorial page. Silly, really, because none of us can last forever, but all that made you you can't just disappear. I remember the first time I met you and Michael at our group: I was frightened and alone, and you smiled at me warmly as if you'd been waiting for me to make an appearance, and I instantly felt safe. You were the mother figure of the group to us all, and a pillar of hope and strength against what we've all been fighting. It was hard to attend this month and find you weren't there, but we remembered you and we smiled at our memories. We ate mince pies and upgraded Michael to 'grandfather' of the group! I don't think he minded too much! Thank you for being a mum to me when I needed you. Thank you for simply being you. With love from Hayley xx
